Building strength, confidence, and functional movement—one personalized step at a time
Program Overview
The ABI Fitness Program is a unique, Ontario Autism Program (OAP)-approved service that blends functional fitness, movement, and individualized skill-building for neurodivergent people of all ages.
Our approach goes far beyond traditional exercise, it’s about connection, confidence, coordination, and community. Whether a student is working toward greater independence, improving strength and balance, or building the physical and social skills needed to participate in sports and recreation, our fitness program makes movement meaningful and motivating. Sessions are guided by trained fitness professionals and behaviour therapists who specialize in working with children, teens, and adults with diverse abilities.

Why ABI Fitness Stands Out
- Designed for Neurodivergent Learners
Every program is built with neurodivergent thinking and learning in mind. We use clear structure, visual supports, individualized pacing, and reinforcement strategies to help participants thrive. - Functional Fitness Meets Fun
Sessions focus on building movements that enhance daily life and real-world participation—running, lifting, jumping, carrying, throwing—all adapted to ability level. - Skill Building Toward Sports
Participants learn transferable skills for team and individual sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, and more, building the coordination, endurance, and confidence to join community or school programs. - Personalized & Engaging
Whether in 1:1 or small group sessions, every plan is customized based on interests and goals.
To keep students engaged, instructors create personalized fitness videos featuring the participant’s name and tailored instructions—so they can practice at home, stay active between sessions, and celebrate progress! - Collaborative, Supportive, and Positive
Families are kept in the loop through progress notes and strategies to help continue success outside of sessions. ABI’s trainers and therapists ensure every victory—big or small, is recognized and reinforced.

Getting Started
Our mission is to make fitness accessible, meaningful, and fun for every learner.
Because when movement is personalized, progress becomes powerful—and every step counts.
OUR PROCESS
Meeting you where you are, Applied Behavioural Interventions is committed to providing those we serve with the necessary tools so that they may live their life to its greatest potential. Working with the entire family, we value connection, engagement and family-centred care, in your home and in your community.
Call, email or click on our chat box to book a time to chat to a Parent Service Co-Ordinator.
Once you have decided that ABI is the right fit for your family, we will book an in-home assessment where we will individualize a treatment plan.
Our Director, a Registered Nurse and BCBA, will meet with you personally to discuss recommendations based on the assessment and a proposal for service is submitted to you for approval. This is a fluid conversation where you decide what will work best for your child, and for your family.
Having the right Team by your side is important. Your trust in us is a privilege. Together, we will select your Team, a start date and provide you with as much support as you need, every step of the way.
